I'm not great with words.
You know, I’ve noticed a lot of people are bitter over the quickly-fading year, and I don’t see why. Bad things happen to you every year. As do good things. It’s your choice to dwell on the bad, and by dwelling on it you’re just going to make yourself feel bad. Work on making things better for yourself if they are not good, keep doing whatever you’re doing if they...

A Visit from the Goon Squad was very well-written. You should read The Realm of Possibility by Levithan too - it was another favorite of mine that I read this year.
I know, such a good book. I read so many this year and it was difficult to just pick and choose five. And thanks for the recommendation, I...

I’m so disoriented right now. Went to go get a haircut, almost got hit by a car again, girls who almost hit me followed me to tell me “Sorry hottie!”, spent two hours hanging out with a ganja-smoking bongo player, got ditched by my brothers and my cousins for a show I told them about, drank some weird tea that I’m not sure was good for me.
I think I wrote some poems but...

Top Five Photos of the Year by Artists I Follow.
I will begin this by saying I am not a visual artist, and therefore my abilities to critique visual art are not as in depth as those who are. I will just say that these are some really talented people, and I enjoyed these photos. You should all check out these people’s blogs, they are interesting people themselves and seeing great photos pop up on your dash every now and then is a great...

I’m definitely going to a cemetery tomorrow. I’m going to resurrect some strangers for characters.
I do that from time to time. I live near a cemetery, so I kind of look at the names imprinted on the tombstones and embellish them with fictional lives when I’m bored.

Funny thing cemeteries do. They make you feel alive and energized and peaceful. Very nicely written. As you know, I can identify with almost everything you write, this post not being an exception. That’s exactly what being alive is. We still have time.
Thank you. I know, I realized how much I miss cemeteries. They’re a nice place to...

SoCal Cemetery.
Lately I’ve been having a real problem with my thoughts. I just can’t get away from them, despite the measures I take. So today I took a walk to try to get away from my own thoughts, and I wasn’t sure where I was going but I was trying to get away from myself. Which is easier said than done. I walked past scrawled graffiti on innocent walls, over the windy free-way overpasses,...

Mind is a razorblade.
I’ve written ten different poems, discarded them all. Analyzed sixteen for no apparent reason. Wrote three drafts of my best of list. Went all the way to Hollywood just to clear my head. And honestly, none of it’s helped.
I miss her. I miss her eyes, I miss her smile, I miss the sound of her voice, I miss her skin, I miss the way she smells, I miss holding her, I miss her lips. I...
